Interview with Rajendra mahato by Rishi dhamala

Tripartite meeting of the government, opposition NC and agitating UDMF failed to yield any concrete result again on Sunday. The meeting ended inconclusively as the UDMF and NC remained rigid on their respective stances.

NC vice chairman Ram Chandra Paudel told reporters after the meeting that the leaders could not forge consensus because the Madhesi leaders declined to allow the government to table the constitution amendment proposal in the parliament.

UCPN (Maoist) leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha meanwhile said that NC insisted that reconstruction bill and amendment bill be table together while the UDMF remained firm that it would only allow the tabling of the former.

UDMF leader and co-chairman of Sadvawana Party Laxmanlal Karna said that the demands of the Madhesi community should be addressed in a package political deal since the amendment proposal does not incorporate all their demands. He told reporters that UDMF has expressed readiness to not obstruct the parliament in order to facilitate the tabling of the reconstruction bill, but that NC was unwilling to go ahead with the bill without amendment
